I had a sweet run today on BST from Grove Canyon to the shooting range then up Trail 51 before taking the Curly Springs- BST cutoff and back to Grove Canyon. 15+ miles of February Trail goodness! Loving the Lone Peaks regardless of the conditions.
The Ultra Experience
Here's to the adventures of my life which are usually ultra marathon trail running or fly fishing but may include other trips, experiences, thoughts, opinions, or pretty much whatever I want. As co-founder of Altra Footwear my life and adventures seemingly revolve more around developing and promoting the best footwear in the world...and I love it!

New York Adventure
I had one of the most enjoyable road runs of my life last Saturday. I was in New York and had some precious free time while traveling. So I loaded up with a little gear and warm clothes and started running. I had no major plan aside from spending a few hours running through New York. I knew that if I got tired I could buy something on the streets or catch the Metro back to my hotel. So at 10:45am I left my hotel in Brooklyn and took to the streets.
I ended up going over Brooklyn Bridge, around lower Manhattan, up Broadway, lunch in Times Square, through Central Park, down Park Place and 1st Avenue, and finally made my way back to the hotel. I stopped a couple times for the bathroom and food but just churned along having a great time! The mapmyrun app said 23.67 but with all the bobbing and weaving, it was probably a little more. All-in-all, the big apple ain't so bad.

Fourth one is the charm!
Hardrock: Strike-out
Western: Strike-out
Wasatch: Strike-out (VERY depressed about that one)
So I put in for Cascade Crest 100 a couple days before the cut-off and I'M IN!! I've since done a bunch of research on this race and am very excited to be heading to Washington come August. Looks like a very solid course that will match my style and strengths.
