So as I mentioned in my last random semi-uncalled for outburst of a post, I am unhappy with my running and even worse...injured. Most of the pain seems to have dissipated with focused massage and stretching but that nagging right hamstring, which kept from me from running early last season, continues to be painful. I had several years without injury so I guess you just do what you can and deal with whatever happens. As I will be travelling to the Middle East for a couple of weeks, I hope to rest and get healthy. I arrive home on May 4th which won't give me much time to prepare for Squaw Peak and the chances of getting a PR this year is quite slim. However I am still excited for Squaw Peak and I hope to race well.
I'm disappointed that I will miss the BSTM. It will be on April 25th while I am out of town. For some reason I thought it would be on the 18th. I haven't caught the triathlon training bug so I am up in the air on how much of that I want to do. For now I will focus on getting healthy and Squaw Peak 50. We will see how I feel afterwards. I have yet to register for any other races so we will see what I feel like doing over the summer and fall. Any secrets for recovering from a lingering hamstring injury?
The Ultra Experience
Here's to the adventures of my life which are usually ultra marathon trail running or fly fishing but may include other trips, experiences, thoughts, opinions, or pretty much whatever I want. As co-founder of Altra Footwear my life and adventures seemingly revolve more around developing and promoting the best footwear in the world...and I love it!

In case you haven't heard...Zanna is pregnant. The due date looks to be October 30th. This does not bode well for the child since it's chances of being a freak are already alarmingly high.
I'm dealing with the pregnancy quite well. Aside from my sleep being interrupted by the sound of vomiting I have felt no ill effects as of yet. Zanna claims to have this disease called morning sickness. It's some vague illness...I don't really understand it but it seems to especially affect her temperament.
Ogden blows. Aside from the best Sushi restaurant in inland America, Ogden seems to have an unusually high white trash population.
Job is good. Recession? I'm more financially stable and independent than I've been in my whole life. Plus my shop is actually pretty sweet.
Running...I ran a 50 miler a couple of weeks ago that went not so well. I've tried running several times since but it looks like I am officially injured. I don't know if there is a name for it, but it seems to affect my right leg starting on the outside of my foot radiating to and through my hamstring and glut. It hurts all day everyday which seems to be an indication that I'm injured.
Oh and I'll be in Amman, Jordan in two weeks! Pretty excited to visit the middle east on a two week vacation.
All in all, life is good. Did I miss anything?
